While New York City grapples with rebuilding after Superstorm Sandy, developers are pressing ahead with plans to build the world's largest Ferris wheel on the shoreline of storm-torn Staten Island.
Several thousand runners who had registered for the marathon ran informal runs in a loop around Central Park, the original 1970 route of the New York City marathon. Some runners were calling it the "Run Anyway Marathon".
